Michael Werner

Michael B. Werner’s experience in the real estate industry began in 1972 with the purchase of his first property in Miami Beach, Florida. For over 35 years, Mr. Werner has owned and operated over 100 properties in 15 states. Mr. Werner has owned a variety of real estate developments including, but not limited to, apartment buildings, office buildings, shopping centers, as well as commercial and residential land for development. He has built single family houses and apartment communities. He has converted thousands of rental apartments to condominiums for individual ownership, providing opportunity for families and investors throughout the years. Mr. Werner has entitled many parcels of property, and has successfully marketed those properties for future development.

Despite the outside variables that affect the real estate industry from time to time, Mr. Werner’s 35+ years of knowledge and hands on approach has enabled him to maintain a successful track record. This has not only benefited him personally, but benefited individuals and corporations he has assisted over the years.

Mr. Werner attended the University of Illinois undergraduate earning a B.S. in accounting in l964; then the University of Illinois, School of Law, earning a JD degree in l967; then the University of Miami, earning a masters in Law and Taxation in l969. Mr. Werner is an inactive attorney, in good standing, admitted to practice in Illinois and Florida. From the time he opened his first law office in Miami Beach in 1970, Mr. Werner lived in Miami Dade County, Florida. In 1988, Mr. Werner made the decision to close his law practice to concentrate full time on his passion for real estate development.

Mr. Werner’s office is currently in Las Vegas where he has the majority of his active real estate portfolio. He has had a significant interest in approximately 3,000 apartments in Las Vegas, most of which were converted to condominiums, and sold prior to the advent of the “recession”. He is also a part of the development team for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department facility of approximately 400,000 sq. ft. delivered to the LVMPD on July 1, 2011. He has significant interest in approximately 10 other diverse properties in the greater Las Vegas area, of all property types.

Mr. Werner and his wife, Dana, maintain residences in Bal Harbour, Florida, Las Vegas, Nevada, New York City, New York, and Aspen, Colorado. The Werners enjoy spending their leisure time with their large family, including 9 grown children and 24 grandchildren.

Mr. Werner presently owns properties in various States, including Florida, North Carolina, New York, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. Mr. Werner is active in Jewish related causes, specifically American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the Jewish Federation, and The Friends of Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), and supports the University of Illinois Foundation, University of Illinois Law School, and University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Foundation.

Benjy Garfinkle

Mr. Garfinkle has been an active real estate investor specializing in the acquisition and repositioning of all types of real estate including distressed and underutilized properties for over thirty years. His real estate holdings have spanned the East Coast, Midwest, Hawaii and Nevada. As one of the Managers in various entities, Mr. Garfinkle is, and has been, an active participant in acquiring, financing, operating, renovating, repositioning and selling assets. His proven track record, hands on approach and attention to detail have consistently added value to those assets.

Mr. Garfinkle’s professional judgment and personal integrity have served partners, equity investors, and lenders well throughout his tenure as a sponsor, joint venture partner and manager. Mr. Garfinkle has received numerous awards for the standard of excellence he has achieved in his past business endeavors. Mr. Garfinkle previously enjoyed similar responsibilities and accomplishments during his 30 years as a partner, with Michael Werner, in Investment Equities Associates (IEA), a Florida based multi-faceted real estate investment and operating entity. Under his leadership, IEA engaged in hundreds of millions in real estate transactions. These transactions include over 1 million square feet of office space, hotels, multi-family apartments, converted condominiums, numerous parcels of land, and luxury homes in over a dozen states.

Over the last several years, Mr. Garfinkle has been actively engaged in numerous commercial, residential and hospitality projects throughout Clark County, Nevada, North Carolina, Florida and Hawaii. His current investments in Clark County include Rainbow Sunset Pavilion, a 105,000 sf class A office building; Red Rock Business Center, a 75,000 sf office complex; The Gramercy, a 20 acre mixed-use project consisting of 200,000 sf of office and retail space and 250 luxury apartments; City Club, a 100-unit apartment complex and several development ready parcels of land. In addition, he also owns and operates a residential company which has completed over ninety (90) transactions in the past eighteen (18) months. Mr. Garfinkle’s hospitality investments in Clark County include two non-gaming hotels with a total of 215 rooms.

Mr. Garfinkle currently resides on the big island of Hawaii with his wife and two children. He has been actively involved in agricultural ventures, environmental causes and currently sits on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations. In addition, he served on the board of a private Hawaii school for over 15 years and currently serves as Co-Chair for the Kukio Fund, a non-profit organization that serves under privileged children on the island of Hawaii.

Ofir Hagay

Mr. Hagay has over 25 years of experience in real estate development, international business, executive management, and business consulting. Throughout his career, Mr. Hagay has been an entrepreneur and visionary in the real estate industry. He has won the Israeli Trade Award for significant contribution to the Israeli Economy. A world traveler, Mr. Hagay has lived and operated businesses in Israel, Africa, Central Europe and currently in the United States and Eastern Europe.

In 2004, Mr. Hagay was one of the principals involved in the highly successful 400+units condominium conversion of Park 1 at SummerlinGate, Las Vegas, as well as the conversion 320 units, Avalon at Seven Hills, Henderson.

Park 1 was purchased with $9 million in owner’s equity and a $39.5 million loan from Corus Bank. Gross proceeds at sell out exceeded $88 million. The successful rate of sales at Park 1 resulted in the payoff in full of the acquisition loan in just 15 months. The overall project achieved a 25% internal rate of return for the partners.

Avalon at Seven Hills, located in the very prestigious Seven Hills area of Henderson, Las Vegas was purchased for $42 million and is a 320 unit class A apartment complex which was later converted to condominiums.

He has successfully founded numerous companies and developed many partnerships in his real estate career. His current investments include Rainbow Sunset Pavilion A, a 105,000 sf class A office building; Red Rock Business Center, a 75,000 sf office complex; The Gramercy, a 20 acre mixed-use project consisting of 200,000 sf of office and retail space, 160 luxury apartments and zoning for an additional 450 apartments, as well as The Lennox, a 200,000 sf, four-story apartment complex comprised of 100 units ranging from 900 sf to 1,900 sf. The Lennox also features a 2,000 square sf clubhouse and fitness center with a coffee bar and pool, as well as a ground-floor parking garage and on-site storage units. Mr. Werner and Mr. Garfinkle are his partners on these ventures.

Mr. Hagay’s other business endeavors include partnering and consulting in many different industries with well-known companies and partners/clients that include John Deere, USAID, Seaboard Corporation, Volvo Trucks and Bosch. His many years of international business experience included the ownership and management of office buildings in Bulgaria where he successfully leased the buildings to Price Waterhouse Coopers and to the Embassy of the European Union to Bulgaria for ten years.
